Present SOS
Telephones
|
Presently all the
Road highways have a mandatory requirement of providing emergency
communication telephones points at every 2Km (or near about)
across one side/both side of the entire length. This is required
as a necessary support in case of any accident or misshappening on
the highway. For this, a fiber optic/copper cable is laid alongwith the highway. The communication points are connected to the
control room via this cable. |

New SOS
Telephones |
Our system does not require a
cable to be laid. Instead it is based on GSM technology. The
telephone points are GSM telephone designed to make a call
on the pre-stored control room numbers. Now a days GSM network is
very strong & available across the highways as well. Each
telephone point has a solar panel & the
system works on extreme low power, from solar energy. |

|
The system remains
in a standby state, drawing negligible power. When a person wants
to make a call, he just presses a button. The power switches on &
dial tone is heard in the speaker. Within few second, the control
room number is automatically dialed. Caller can listen the ring
back
tone & when the control room answers, the caller can communicate
with the control room. In case of unsuccessful call (e.g. control
room number busy etc), caller can again press same button to
redial. |

Besides all these advantages, this GSM system is
very easy to operate. Only one button to press for
dial/redial/terminate. Also, it encourages the use of solar power.

Application |
Ideally suitable for state highways & other roads where budget
is limited & costly systems can not be implemented.
Can also be used for national highways to cut down the cost.
Can also be used in programs like emergency child helpline. A
phone can be installed in each village with child helpline number
pre-programmed. A child can easily press a button of this phone,
where as he may not dial the helpline number from conventional phone.
Many similar helpline applications requiring a specific number to
be called. |
